Globally operating transport and courier service company SkyNet Worldwide Express and Finnish logistics service company Collico Oy signed a cooperation agreement in April 2020.
Cooperation between Collico and SkyNet enables online store
deliveries to be sent anywhere in the world
as easily as within Finland
.
Established in 1972, SkyNet Worldwide Express has operated in Finland since the early 2000s. Several local logistics companies previously handled its deliveries. From now on, Collico Oy, a company specialising in e-commerce and food product logistics, will exclusively handle SkyNet’s deliveries and distribution in Finland.
Collico specialises in temperature controlled food product logistics. Its management has strong expertise in food product logistics. Peter Klenberg, CEO, has worked as chief development officer in the logistics unit of the Finnish postal services Posti, logistics and ICT director of Suomen Spar and development director of Tuko Logistics, for example. Jani Vainio, Sales and Marketing Director, has worked as logistics and development director of Heinon Tukku Oy and been involved in the development of several online stores.
SkyNet Worldwide Express, a distribution network consisting of several private companies, currently operates in 209 countries.
“SkyNet has the world’s largest air cargo network. Via SkyNet, you can send a parcel almost anywhere in the world, including the South Pole. There is no SkyNet station there, but our partner will be able to deliver the parcel,” says SkyNet Finland’s country director Anthony Ehrnrooth.
Skynet Finland also has an international parcel service for private customers. The distribution network covers practically the entire world. Service sales will be further developed this year.
“In addition to the extensive distribution network, our strengths include speed and highly competitive pricing. For example, a parcel from Finland to Rio de Janeiro will get there in approximately three days,” says Ehrnrooth, providing an example.
Collico is responsible for the online store deliveries of several well-known Finnish food industry companies, such as Kauppahalli24 and Panda.
The cooperation provides several synergy benefits to both parties. SkyNet Worldwide Express will be able to use Collico’s already existing distribution network in Finland, and Collico will have access to SkyNet’s worldwide distribution network.
“In the future, the cooperation will enable deliveries anywhere in the world as easily as now within Finland,” Klenberg says.
Worldwide transport services are required for the logistics of Collico’s new e-commerce services, for example.
For SkyNet, the cooperation with Collico provides more assurance and reliability.
“I anticipate a secure future together. Collico is a strong cooperation partner,” Ehrnrooth says.
